Finding a right nipple for my baby’s bottle is not that easy. From the start, we use Pigeon of Japan. At first, we buy rubber nipples which are softer but since the nipple is made from rubber, it has rubber smell when sterilized too often by heating it. Then we use a silicone nipple which is smell-free but it is harder than a rubber one. Consequently my baby has difficulty in sucking it. He is supposed to finish a 120 ml of milk in about twenty minutes but with a silicone nipple, he has to suck for about an hour, interrupted by crying when he sucks not hard enough and the milk won’t flow out.

Besides Pigeon, we also have a nipple from Avent but since he is used to suck Pigeon’s nipples, he won’t such Avent’s because of different texture.

Now, I am trying an M-size silicone nipple instead of S-size. The flow of milk will be smoother without putting too much effort in sucking. An M-size nipple is designed for 3 month old babies. My baby seems to be able to handle it.
