Just finished our reunion dinner on new year's eve. Everybody's happy
because of the great food. My mom did the cooking.

However, my new baby, Bastian, is still in the hospital because his
bilirubin level exceeds ten. Tomorrow we'll pick him up. Hopefully he's
allowed to go home.

Happy Chinese New Year!

We're going home today. The doctor has given his permission. He fully
understands that tonight's new year's eve. We're supposed to stay one more
night.

As for our baby, Bastian, he may need to stay longer because his bilirubin
level' s ten. Usually, the hospital'll give permission only if baby's
bilirubin level less than that. Hope to bring him home together today.
Still, I am worried with the rainy weather, no sunshine.

Methergine (generic: Methylergonovine Maleate)

Indications:
Management after delivery of placenta; postpartum atony and hemorrhage;
subinvolution; under full obstetric supervision, may be given in second
stage of labor following delivery of the anterior shoulder.

Acts directly on smooth muscle of the uterus and increases tone, rate, and
amplitude of rhythmic contractions, thereby inducing a rapid and sustained
tetanic uterotonic effect that shortens the third stage of labor and
reduces blood loss.

My wife is given this drug after the operation. She is in pain now. The
drug causes contraction in her uterus and she feels as if she's going to
give birth. The drug is used to make her uterus back to its normal size
after caesarean section. I don't think normal delivery will need this drug.

I can't stand seeing her in pain.

I am so relieved. My wife delivered our second son this morning thru
caesarian. He weights 4.430 kgs and his height's 50 cm. You know what? His
weight and height are the same as Andrew's when he was born. They also look
the same :)

My wife must take lots of rest. She keeps throwing up and that upsets her.
She didn't throw up even once when she delivered Andrew.

Will accompany her thru this. Hope she recovers soon.

Btw, my new baby boy is named Bastian Goutama, taken from St. Sebastian.

Thank you for your prayers. God bless.

St. Gerard Majella, patron of expectant mothers

O Great Saint Gerard, beloved servant of Jesus Christ, perfect imitator of your meek and humble Savior, and devoted Child of the Mother of God: enkindle within my heart one spark of that heavenly fire of charity which glowed in your heart and made you an angel of love. O glorious Saint Gerard, because when falsely accused of crime, you did bear, like your Divine master, without murmur or complaint, the calumnies of wicked men, you have been raised up by God as the Patron and Protector of expectant mothers. Preserve me from danger and from the excessive pains accompanying childbirth, and shield the child which I now carry, that it may see the light of day and receive the lustral waters of baptism through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

My son is getting heavier. This morning, when I lifted him over my head to sit in my shoulders, I strained my back. Is my son gaining weight or is his father too skinny? 50 kgs against 15 kgs, not proportional? You tell me. I’ll never try to lift him again.

The price of one sack of rice of 25 kgs is now Rp. 150.000,-. It was less than a hundred rupiah then. We can see that it is 50% more expensive. Crazy right? Everybody consumes rice, the poor even consume more because they can’t afford to buy meat or vegetables and what happened? The price of rice is soaring high.

The government is trying to import rice to control the soaring price but the parliament is against the policy by saying that the government must protect farmers. Doesn’t the parliament know that the rice is already with the distributors, not with the farmers? Even the farmers have to buy rice now, with new price.

I think we should import rice to stabilize the price first.

My wife is going to deliver our baby by Caesarean section next week. Kindly pray for us. Thanks.

Everytime I lift my son for him to take a pee, I will burst into laughter. He laughs and I cannot stand not to laugh. Imagine this: When he is peeing, he laughs and then he stops and he’s peeing again and laughs again.

When I arrive home, I will ask his mom or the nanny if Andrew has just peed. If it has been a while, I will immediately lift him to take a pee.
