Have been a while not updating my blog. It’s a holiday season and everybody is busy gathering with family or travelling with friends. I myself went to Singapore and celebrated Christmas there. I missed Christmas’s eve mass but managed to attend two masses on Christmas day. First mass in English at 10 am at Cathedral of Good Shepherd at Queen Street near Orchard and second mass in Indonesian at 4 pm at Church of St. Bernadette in Tiong Bahru area.

Today is the last day of 2003. I have just finished lunch together with all my colleagues here. Wish you all Happy New Year 2004. May 2004 brings more good things in our life: properity, peace, love. See you all next year. Time does fly and I am one year older. So sad that my resolution has not been fulfilled.

It’s Monday again. Yesterday I went to a new church, I mean, I attend a mass in a church I’ve never been before and guess what? My friend was on duty there, playing music. It’s so sweeeetttt of her to serve God :) I think we all shoud do the same, making use of our talents, whatever they are, to serve our Creator. I sound so religious… :)

People say that when you attend mass in a new church for the first time and pray in front of Mother Mary, your prayer will be heard. I always try to do that. Still have a lot of chances since I have not visited all churches, even in Jakarta, not to mention the ones outside Jakarta or outside Indonesia :)

Talking about motivation, I have an interesting experience. I had a blog but I didn’t update it often. But then, a friend of mine asked me to set up a blog for her. She started to write and since we communicated, I started to update my blog more often. I also learnt how to put pictures, music in my blog. The bottom line is by having others, we get motivated and uncounsiously we learn new things. Even it ends up that we rarely communicate lately, at least both of us get something, something good.

Like political party, sometimes two parties have totally different platform, so it’s definitely impossible for them to make coalition although they share common ideology, for instance based on Catholic faith.

You see my photo on the left? It was taken by Yulianto, a candid photographer of Yulianto Photography. I was in Puncak in one occasion relating to the wedding of Nina, a daughter of my boss. Never been photographed by a candid camera before makes me find the photo attractive. :) What do you think?

Yulianto gave it to me as a gift. In fact, he gave away candid photos to several others, those who he knows.

Nowadays, bride and groom-to-be like to have candid photos for their wedding besides the ordinary studio photos. Moreno and Yulianto are two specializing in this field. They are not cheap though.

I spent only 2 hours finishing my test, still 1 hour left. It’s not that I am too good but I just finish doing it and it’s not my habit to go thru it because I know by going thru or not, I won’t make any significant amendments. 2 hours doing the test’s already made my head dizzy, it’s surely because of nonstop concentration, thinking and writing.

I hope to get an A for the test. I still have to wait long to see the result because it will only be released six months afterwards. Please pray for me, ok?

Inscribed on the tomb of an Anglican Bishop in Westminster Abby (1100 A.D.)

When I was young and free
and my imagination had no limits,
I dreamed of changing the world.
As I grew older and wiser,
I discovered
the world would not change,
so I shortened my sights somewhat
and decided to change only my country.

But it too
seemed immovable.

As I grew into my twilight years,
in one last desperate attempt,
I settled for changing only family,
those closest to me,
but alas, they would have none of it.

And now as I lay on my deathbed,
I suddenly realize:
If I had only changed myself first,
then by example
I would have
changed my family.

From their inspiration
and encouragement,
I would then
have been able to better my country
and, who knows,
I may have even
changed the world.

I am surprised on how things change. I used to go to church with a friend regularly and now I rarely contact her. She does the same, not contacting me. We lose contact, that's not what I want.
Have been thinking and concluded that if we involve feeling in a relationship, then things may change significantly. It won’t be the same as we first met. It’s because we didn’t know our positions. How did I position myself and how did she position herself? It won’t happen if everything’s clear.

Today’s first Friday of December and there is going to be a mass in my boss’s house tonight. Last month I had to go to church for first Friday mass because my boss was not in town and consequently no mass held at his house. I am excited because I will meet a lot of friends there; friends from Gratia Choir, friends from Indosiar, friends who I meet only at the mass.

For Catholics, first Friday mass is important. Although I don’t know the history of the mass, I know that first Friday mass usually includes adoration to Sacred Heart of Jesus. That’s why I try not to miss the mass every month although sometimes I do :)

For tonight’s mass, everyhing seems ready. Books for order of mass, songs in Power Point format, flowers for altar , prayer intention cards. Even I will bring different kind of cards with picture of Jesus, Maria that contain different kind of prayers to be distributed. So, see you tonight.

There are several friends of mine who switch from Roman Catholic to Christian. I feel sorry for not being able to be a model of a good Catholic. They shouldn’t have switched. Wondering what is it that they are looking for?

From my early observation, they switch to Christian because they think they might find something more there. Don’t know from where such an idea comes out or they are just trying. Crazy if they are…

What disturbs me is why people so easily change religion. Why don’t learn more of what you believe first? Join more activities, read more books.
